 I've always wanted to see the heralded bluebonnets in Texas, and what better way to spend late April than surrounded by a carpet of gorgeous blue flowers? (For more information on where to find these Texas beauties check out this site.) |

 First stop in Texas was Lubbock, where Newman relaxed in shady Stumpy Hamilton Park, |
 then down to Abilene, and on Route 84, we hit bluebonnet gold! They were everywhere, right along the side of the road. |

 Newman decided he really liked these blue flowers! |
 But there were also some great ponds nearby |
|
 The ironworks in that part of the country are very ornate and beautiful. |
 Newman's already looking forward to next year's trip! |
