Spring Bluebonnets in Texas I've always wanted to see the heralded bluebonnets in Texas, and what better way to spend late April than surrounded by a carpet of gorgeous blue flowers? (For more information on where to find these Texas beauties check out this site.) First stop in Texas was Lubbock, where Newman relaxed in shady Stumpy Hamilton Park, then down to Abilene, and on Route 84, we hit bluebonnet gold! They were everywhere, right along the side of the road. Newman decided he really liked these blue flowers! But there were also some great ponds nearby The ironworks in that part of the country are very ornate and beautiful.
