Collaborative Study on Chained Dogs Just Published
[February 26, 2008] A recently completed study entitled, "The Public Safety and Humane Implications of Persistently
Tethering Domestic Dogs" -- the result of a collaborative effort between Animal Protection of New Mexico and the
Department of Public Safety -- is now available on the APNM website. House
Memorial 19, introduced in 2007 by New Mexico Representative Miguel García and approved by the Consumer and Public
Affairs Committee, requested the study be undertaken in response to changing public attitudes about the common
practice of chaining dogs.

Pet Loss Support Group
[June 1, 2007] Ann Beyke, M.A. LPC, pet loss and bereavement counselor, has begun a pet loss support group for individuals grieving the loss of a beloved
companion animal. The group meets the second and fourth Tuesdays, from 4-5 p.m. at the Source for Creating Sacredness, 1111 Carlisle SE.
