As part of National Pit Bull Awareness month and the ASPCA Community Partnership, Animal Humane | NM and the City of AlbuquerqueAnimal Welfare Department present a FREE public screening of a documentary about one of ABQ's favorite dogs. At the KiMo Theater.




Saturday, October 25th, 11 am: DogBOO registration begins for contests for best dog costume, best dog & person costume, best kisser, best tailwagger. Fun, prizes--don't miss it! At Downtown Growers' Market, Robinson Park, Eighth & Central.


Gone to the Dogs Autumn Festival, 10/26/14

Sunday, October 26th, 10 am - 3 pm: Turquoise Trail Dogs presents the first annual Fall Has Gone to the Dogs Autumn Festival, with lure coursing and small dog racing, costume contest, games & prizes, photo shoots, live music, food and more. All to benefit Almost Home Dog Rescue. Prizes will be awarded for best costumes! At Garfield Park, behind Garfield Middle School, Matthew west of Fourth St. (map). Call Dee Turner at 884-9087 for more information.

10:30 am - 6 pm: Albuquerque Animal Welfare presents The Lonely Hearts Adoption Event, where you can adopt a dog that's one year or older, and has been at the shelter for 30 days or more, for over $25, which includes spay/neuter, vaccinations, and a microchip. This is a great chance--at a great price--to save a dog who's been waiting awhile for a forever home. At both shelters and Lucky Paws (11:30 am - 7:30 pm).
